Unbricking Tecno A+ and A2

UPDATE:: Video Tutorial here

Ok so you rooted and installed apps and somehow and someway you managed to brick your device...lets fix it.

FILES
First of all, here are the files you will need:

1. Stock rom for phantom A+: Here and for A2 Here

2. Specific flashtool that works on A+: Here

3. Drivers for the A+ and A2: Here (I would advice that you uninstall any previous drivers for any tecno you have installed as they might cause a conflict. here is a way to test if your drivers are working properly. with the phone off, open your computers device manager and plug the phone. you should see "mediatek preloader..." come up for about 5 seconds and disappear. if it shows with a yellow arrow on it then the drivers are not installed correctly. if it doesnt have the yellow arrow then you are good to go.)

DISCLAIMER: Follow THESE instructions and Download THESE files for TECNO PHANTOM A+ only. I will not be held for any mishap caused by instructions followed from somewhere else.


HOW TO FLASH:
1. now open the folder where u downloaded d files to (everything must be in d same folder o) and cut the scatter file out and paste it in anoda place (anywhere. just make sure its not in d same folder as the other files).
open sp flash tools and use d file tab to load DAT scatter file. remember to copy d cwm recovery and overwrite d recovery inside d folder

2. now it should show you a list of things to flash. untick everything except recovery, boot and system (that means only these 3 should be ticked o). now double click on d word recovery and select d cwm recovery you copied there. please make sure everything is in d same folder o.
do the same for the boot and system image u downloaded.

3. remove the bat3 from the bricked or unhappy A+. click download in sp flash tools and plug d bricked f7. flashing will begin and when it ends you should see a green circle. if it doesnt start den remove and plug again. if you try three times and it doesnt flash den u didnt install the drivers correctly.

4.if you see the green circle then congrats you have successfully flashed your phone. now please first things first, after you finish patting yourself on the back about what a wonderful guru you are. put off the phone and wait for it to vibrate. the hold the volume up button and press and hold the power button until it shows you three options. use the volume button to navigate to recovery mode and use the volume down button to select it. cwm should boot. now please backup your phone.

    after i ubrick the phantom am still stuck with samsung booth screen and there is no sim signal coming up. What should i do now.

      If you used the files I uploaded everything should work fine as i have tested it myself. If the phone boots up then I suggest you check that both sims are enabled

      how do i enable, thought it is automatic when you boot the phone if there is/are sims inside unless there is another way (u are the guru).
      pls tell me how cos since ystday am grounded. It is saying "no sim card detected". i tried two roms none works eventhough my sim cards are working with other devices. plese help guide me ratify this error.

      Get a wifi connection and download mobile uncle tools. open it and select enginering mode. select the IMEI option there and input the numbers at the back of your phone behind your battery. Thats all

    please, the flash tools is showing me rubbish. it shows red bar with 100% and gives a very long error message. it doesnt unbrick. ive tried it on another laptop, installed all the drivers, and all the stuffs. still same shii.

    Capt. pls help!!!!!! i tried to install Xperia Blast II, when it got to the time to reboot my fon got stuck on a black screen. i can see the LED light but to animation, NOTHING....!!! just black screen with a little illumination on the screen. Please Help, im crying!!!!

    Hello,
    I installed the Melting Rock II Rom 2days ago and the install went well but on startup it tells me No sim Card Detected on both Sim 1 and 2, I Have tried the MT65xx tool tp right the IMEI number from the back of my pack but did not work a;so tried Engr Mode --> GPRS and CDS Info. to write the IMEI but always failed or an not write IMEI. Finally tried to follow the steps here to unbrick with no luck in fact cant get it to start at all... The phones just keeps disconnecting when the battery is out but even in CWM does not see it (Drivers are installed). Been through all the methods i can find on google and xda-dev but no dice..Baseband and IMEI still invalid or unknown. Even restoring the backup i first made in CWm does not correct this.
    So if you have any ideas for me would be greatful.

    Pls, help me with my tecno phantom a plus, i use this software " meteos-mtk6589-rom-edit-4gb-en" on it to increase the internal storage partition for apps from 1gb to 2gb after which resulted in bootloop, i have tried restoring my nandroid cwm backup via cwm recovery and wiping data and cache but still bootloop persist, it will just display "optimizing apps" then after that display "starting apps" and hangs for the first booting, successive bootings will just hang on tecno loading screen and then hangs there, pls help me, is there any solution. I guess i needs to repartition my emmc, because cwm recovery cant mount the emmc, which i think is the problem source. Please help.

    Seun, this is your blog, i see no reason why u should'nt attend to most complaints by ur members. I noticed most people have same issue on how to install the drivers which u posted above. It is a ZIP file which when u open it, there's no .exe file, which makes the installation HARD. Just hint us on how to install that driver as i guess that's not too much to ask for. Thanks in adv.

      Thanks for your reply, Thank God u comfirmed it that the "mediatek preloader..." come up for about 5 seconds only, when i try updating the driver and locates the driver, it says driver not found. But i noticed that my laptop recognises my phone well when it is put on (and hang at tecno logo)

    It seems that you are busy fo you have not answered many of the questions here. Please, whenever you come, kindly attend to my question because i am in dire need of help. I rooted my phone as you directed and went on to install the melting rocks ROM but guess what, my phone came up but I have no access to the screen because it goes blank except when I press the power button as if I want to reboot the phone. It doesn't stop there considering that unbricking my phone will require a PC but there is no way to change my USB option to the required one where my phone can be accessed from the system. In short, my phone is almost completely useless and I have no clue about the next thing to do.

      You can use it on F8. Just make sure you download the files for F8 not F7 or else your phone go enter F9 mode. (see? I made a joke)

    Help seun! The unbricking of my phantom a plus was a success, But my orientation sensor began to misbehave, it keeps changing into landscape orientation even when the phone is portrait. When I play temple run, asphalt 6 and other games that uses the sensor the game keeps going left until I tilt the phone right

    Thanks for providing all these great solutions to our needs. I am very appreciative of that.

    INVALID IMEI.
    I have this problem and I have tried many methods without success. I finally came here to use your unbricking steps. i have downloaded your youtube video and i have the steps in my head. However, the following are my observations and failures:

    1. There is no file in the folder I have to associate with uboot.
    2. The secro file in the folder is a .img file not a .bin file as it shows in your video
    3. You have two scatter files in your folder named emmc and emmcx. why do you have two?
    4. What is to be done to the lk file?
    5. What is to be done with the imei.bak file?

    When I plug in my phone while switched off, nothing happens on the flash tool.
    Note, my laptop can recognize my phone.


    Thank you and please note that, if you don't help me, I may have to get another phone, which I can't afford now.

    Hi Seun, I did everything correctly up to the "click on download" part but nothing is happening. I am stucked at 0% for more than 30 mins. I removed and replugged the cable like 20 times already. I am sure i correctly installed the MTK and ADB drivers. What should I do to my bricked and unhappy phone. Please reply!

    i did use the a2 rom successfully to unbrick my a2 but calls do not work .
    the melting rock rom works better though wifi and camera issues are present in the melting rock rom. has better interface

    please, show to make the nvram load. i succeded in making box to tick appear in sp flashtools by editing a line in scatter file .then i loaded nvram .bin file but still getting error 8038 during flashing .

    mine isnt flashing at all, it loads the redbar and then brings up a 3149 brom error

    please Seun, I'm in need of your help greatly about my phone which had bricked for over a month now. i rotted d phone and it worked fine but afterwards, i collected an app from a friend which helps to move some apps installing on the phone memory to the memory card and that app changes some settings in the phone so it can work well it installed successfully i tested it by moving some apps into the memory card and it moved successfully so i then mistakenly moved a system app named 'ANDROID SYSTEM' something i can't really remember very well then my phone just went into booting mode and stuck in the tecno screen loading and didn't come up, i then tried removing the battery and re-fixed it but all was still the same, then i tried restoring factory settings without me backing up the phone but it still didn't work so i gave it to a repairer who said he tried downloading ROMS into it but it didn't work. a friend of mine even tried doing it in my presence but instead of showing green logo it's showing a red one in the bar...... pls pls pls just reply this for God's sake and help me. thanks man

    pls Seun, after unbricking my phn my ntwrk arenn't coming up and i tried that changing of IMEI number but it ain't going tru, pls help me ccuz i'm really stuck with this

    Hi guyz...can someone pliz assist me with loading the NVRAM file as in the tutorial coz the scatter file does not seem to load it.And when flashing the flash tool says some of the files are not matched correctly and may result in an unbootable phone...which is the case coz the phone does not move past the tecno boot logo...lucky l had CWM recovery image to restore my phone.
    And how do l load the 819MB system image from the flash tool?
